Montie Awards announces ceremony presenters

The 2014-2015 Montie Awards and Lifetime Achievement Award is proud to announce the full confirmed line-up of presenters in each award category.

Those on the list include performers,technical artists, directors, community members and  guest celebrities that are excited to help celebrate the pursuit of excellence that this year’s nominees exhibit. These presenters include Denton Florian, director of the Sam Houston Documentary; Mary McCoy, a recent inductee into the Texas Radio Hall of Fame; and Roy Harris, a former world heavyweight boxer.

The Monties will also present two people that hold a piece of local theater history you won’t believe that will be revealed at the very end of the ceremony.

Nominations for all categories will appear on The Monties website (themontieawards.com) following closing weekend of The Crighton’s “Shrek” and The Owen’s “Stepping Out.”

Tickets are only $10 and not only for the excitement of The Monties ceremony. A ticket also gets attendees into the big after party at Founders Plaza sponsored by Spirit of Texas Bank and Bernhardt Winery immediately after the show, which will include Bernhardt Winery offerings, snacks and complete big band orchestra to dance to. The Greater Conroe Arts Alliance is facilitating The Montie Awards.

The Montie Awards and Lifetime Achievement Award Ceremony will be held Saturday, Aug. 15 at 8 p.m. at The Crighton Theater in downtown Conroe. To purchase a ticket, visit www.crightontheatre.org/Ticketing.

The Montie Awards and Lifetime Achievement Award show is a formal night to celebrate the arts of Montgomery County held annually in Conroe, Texas. The awards themselves are made of solid bronze at a value of $900 each, or more than $20,000 annually. The costs of The Monties are underwritten by generous donations and in-kind services from local businesses. The Greater Conroe Arts Alliance is facilitating The Montie Awards and Spirit of Texas Bank remains as the presenting lead sponsor.
