The third show of the season is going strong and continues this weekend at The Owen Theatre by The Players Theatre Company.
“Moon Over Buffalo” directed by Orvis Melvin, runs until Nov. 1.
Melvin, previously directed the 2014 production of “Oklahoma!” at The Owen Theatre, which earned a Montie Award nomination for Sara Preisler in Best Lead Actress in a Musical.

“Charlotte and George Hay are on tour in Buffalo in 1953 with a repertory consisting of Cyrano de Bergerac “revised, one nostril version” and Noel Coward’s Private Lives, when they receive word that they might just have one last shot at stardom: Frank Capra is coming to town to see their matinee.”
The show features several previous Montie Award recipients and nominees:
Bre Jatzlau, Eileen, was previously nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy or Drama for her performance in The Players Theatre Company’s “Almost, Maine” last year.
David Herman, Richard, was previously nominated for two Monties. One was 2014’s “Inherit the Wind” as Best Actor for Minor Role in a Comedy or Drama, and the same category for 2013’s “The Matchmaker.”
Terry Lynn Hale, Ethel, was previously nominated for two Monties: Best Actress for Minor Role in a Comedy or Drama for 2014’s “It’s a Wonderful Life” from The Players Theatre Company, and for 2013’s “The Matchmaker” as Best Lead Actress in a Comedy or Drama.
Faye Beth Beckman, props, is a three-time nominee for The Monties, including twice for Best Props and once for Best Set Decoration.
Laura Lange, Sound Design, was previously nominated for Best Actress in a Minor Role in a Musical for her performance in The Players Theatre Company’s 2012 production of “Smokey Joe’s Cafe.”
Roger Ormiston, Lighting Design/Scenic Artist/Set Design, is a three-time Montie Award Lighting Design nominee, including his win last year for Stage Right Production’s “Singin’ in the Rain.”
Michael Hayes, Hair & Makeup/Wardrobe, has been nominated five times in the past for his back-stage work including receiving the Best Set Design awards for The Players Theatre Company’s “The Foreigner” in 2012.
